Till Dynamic Fare
It was a beautiful day, the last day of my visit to Columbus Ohio. We had a full day of drinking and eating planned and wanted to start off somewhere we could eat a delicious meal and load up on carbs prior to more carbs…and beer. My amazing friend picked a great little spot in a location that used to be Dragonfly which used to be my favorite restaurant in Columbus…King Avenue Coffee House. For those of you that loved these places, get ready! I think you’ll love this too. It’s the same owner, similar concept but a little more grown up.

Walking in, I was immediately wowed by the simplistic style. Where the King Ave. Coffee House was dark and moody, Till is light and airy.
I love the tile around the bar and the giant chalk board.
I don’t remember outdoor seating before. It was very charming, however extremely noisy being right on King Ave. Either way, we enjoyed the lovely table and the beautiful shaded seating area. The fence helped make the spot feel more intimate, too.
On to the good stuff! We had our first beer at Till. They have an nice beer and wine list. The beer list has a few options from the new breweries in the area and a couple of other Ohio locals too. I was pleased with the choices we were offered and quickly found something to drink. The draft beers are between $7 and $9.
First course we ordered the Smoked Portabella Poutine – sweet potato fries smothered in mushroom gravy and topped with mushrooms and goat cheese ($10). We loved these. Wished we had ordered two of these. They had a great amount of paprika sprinkled on top too.
Four our main, we ordered the Lamb burger ($17). This was Ohio lamb, ground in house, topped with roasted red pepper, greens and goat cheese on a nice potato bun. I really enjoyed it. The goat cheese went very well with the burger, which was perfectly cooked. My companion wasn’t thrilled with this, but she isn’t a huge fan of lamb. I was impressed at her ability to step outside of her comfort zone with this one!
The only thing we didn’t love was the side with the burger. It was served with a german potato salad that was really more like a german fusion style potato salad. It was very bland.
All in all, our waiter was quirky, helpful with menu items, informative and very fast with our food. Our total bill was a bit more than I would typically like to pay for lunch, but all in all it was well worth the money.
